In 30 minutes, it will be one week since I got the call.

Here are some of the things I want to remember from the last 7 days…I try to write them down as they come rushing back like a flood of tears.

  1. We were sitting with Jamie from Celebration Church at my parents dining room table. Micah was there, and then he was gone. I texted him, I yelled for him, I looked for him in every nook and cranny, but nothing. As soon as we were done planning the celebration service I went outside, he was siting in his car, I hopped in and he played Supermarket Flowers by Ed Sheeran, GOD BLESS!!! I wailed and screamed from the top of my lungs, he then proceeded to drive away and hit super charge. I might have stopped crying and nearly peed my pants.

  2. All the flowers, the cards, the texts, the phone calls, the hugs, the food, the people showing up, clients, friends, family, students, co-workers. It was a testament to her life, it was exactly what she wanted. To love BIG and shine for Jesus.

  3. Everyone gathering around the table, standing in her kitchen, kids playing in the back yard, that was always her dream.

  4. Her garden. Getting to water it for her. It is lovely. There are statues of angels, saints, dogs and Aslyn watching over it.

  5. I tried watching The Young & The Restless, couldn’t do it, HAHA. We used to watched it everyday.

  6. My kids loving me so well. Brayden taking on my pain as I got the call, Bentley holding me like he never has. They never left my side.

  7. My tribe, they are fierce. They all showed up.

  8. Curiosity and ideas that have taken root because of my mom this week. The creativity and legacy is deeply rooted. Can’t wait to share with y’all.

  9. My sweet husband. I was yelling and sobbing in the bathroom, the dog hid under the bed, the kids came running, and he told them, “this will happen often kids, just love her through it”

  10. My dad, our family, the softening of hearts, continuing to let things be, to grow up and forgive often.
